    Free air questions

Which gas stations have free air?

Chains widely reported to offer free air include Wawa, Sheetz, QuikTrip, Kwik Trip / Kwik Star and Stewart's Shops. Tire shops like Discount Tire and Les Schwab also top off tires for free during store hours.

Where is the closest free air pump near me?

Tap Find free air near me at the top of this page, or type your address, city or ZIP. You will see the closest free air pumps with driving time, distance, opening hours and how sure we are that the air is free.

Is free air required by law?

Only in two states. California requires free air and water for fuel customers, and Connecticut requires it during business hours at larger stations. Everywhere else it's up to the station.

    How accurate is this map?

Locations come from each chain's own store list, and every listing shows how sure we are that the air is free: a chain policy, a reported policy, a store-by-store policy, or a state law. Individual machines can be broken or switched off, so check before you rely on it, and tell us if something's wrong.

How much air should I put in my tires?

Use the pressure on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb, not the number on the tire sidewall (that's the maximum). Check when tires are cold, before driving.
